Miska, the alpine climber
Doesn’t need to be taken care off.
Doesn’t need to be petted
Or to beg for breadcrumbs..
It’s law is to satisfy its basic needs.
It lives as it pleases,
enjoying from sun to sun,
the kindness of the forest.
Equally enjoys eating
blueberries and strawberries
during spring time;
as well as the much long jurkies
become its favorite autumn snacks.
Agile, intrepid and healthy
With his shinny pelt
Miska is a very precious little mouse
Miska, el alpinista,
no necesita cuidados
y manos que lo acaricien,
ni mendigar por migajas.
Su ley es satisfacer
las necesidades básicas.
Él vive como le place.
Goza, de sol a sol,
las bondades del bosque.
Disfruta por igual de moras y fresas
en tiempos primaverales;
mientras que los codiciados jurkies
se convierten en sus favoritos bocadillos de otoño.
Ágil, intrépido y saludable,
con pelaje reluciente,
Miska, es un precioso ratoncillo.

and has a brim a meter wide.
Its peak casts a long, long shadow.
I like to wear it everywhere.
My honey says it doesn’t grow a bit on him.
